Christmas Day, Dual Celebration
Merry Christmas Day on this December 25, 2023. Today we can have a dual celebration since the “Babe” was found in the manger but the “Body” was not found in the tomb! “And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” – Luke 2:12; “And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.” – Luke 24:3
Today, we celebrate an event which brought fulfillment to the words of the Prophets and displayed the boundless love of a loving God to fallen mankind. Today we celebrate the arrival of “The Light of the World” into a world darkened by the curse of sin. Today we celebrate the coming of the “Seed of the Woman” through the womb and into the arms of the virgin maiden. Today we celebrate the mystery of Godliness and marvel that the One held in the virgin’s arms, holds the whole world in His mighty hands!
Today we celebrate and breathe a God given and glorious sigh of relief that the Babe found is the Incarnate God and His Body would not be found in the tomb. His mission in coming to this earth would be successful for the payment made for our sins at Calvary would be posted in boxcar letters over the empty grave. Our hearts rejoice over the finding at the manger and we shout for joy over the missing body in the garden tomb. We joyfully sing on this Christmas Day, “Joy to the world the Lord is come” and “Up from the grave He arose”! We also shout on this Christmas Day, “Halleluiah what a Saviour” and “Praise God for our Conquering King! – Merry Christmas my Friends!!!
