The King realized that he was no match against the impending enemy invasion and, in fact, didn’t know what to do! He actually did the right thing when he didn’t know what to do. He maintained his concentration. His eyes were on the Lord! It appears to me that confusion becomes somewhat of a “sanctified confusion” when it prompts an upper look. When life is normal and we feel that we are in control, we tend to feel a less need of God! Blessed is the Christian whose eyes are upon the Lord praising Him for His goodness, thanking Him for His blessings, and trusting Him when we don’t know what to do.
