Despair to Joy
Today I listen to the news and feel the urge to throw up my hands and give in to despair. Nothing seems to be going right in this world. Evil activity abounds and justice never is served. Politicians form more committees to investigate criminal activity but that is as far as it goes. The world is at war, our Country is going down the tube, and the wicked appear to be winning. We wonder how much longer can this mess go on? I am in despair at what I see and hear! I have another resource which is greater! I know the truth of Scripture. “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13
Today, I have hope and joy because of what I know, rather than what I see and hear. Joy to the world, the Lord has come, Joy to the world because He is here and giving grace, hope, and joy to keep on keeping on. Joy to the world because He is coming back and “He shall reign for ever and ever”! “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:” – I Peter 1:8
