“My Hiding Place”
“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.” – Psalm 32:7
Our weakness and insecurity are being made clearer by the day as our world increasingly becomes more dangerous. When have we ever needed a “hiding place” more than today? War raging in Israel, invasion at our Southern border, violence in our cities, incompetence in our government, and spiritual decline in our Nation have given us all reason to feel insecure. There is one legitimate way to hide from our troubles and that is to hide in the Lord!
The procedure in hiding is the procedure of faith. God is still able to give grace to deal with the stresses and problems in life. He is as much our “hiding place” today as He has always been for His people down through the years. David knew that has primary deliverance was from the guilt, sadness, and sorrow brought on by sin. He was given joy with “song of deliverance”! His spiritual resources enabled him to recognize his security in the Lord and to remain joyful despite his problems. Every true Christian is “hidden” but not all Christians enjoy their “hiding”! “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” – Colossians 3:3
