Thanksgiving Leftovers
It has been said that gratitude in the memory of the heart. A grateful heart retains this wonderful memory even when the mind is not so clear. The grateful heart remembers to be grateful and doesn’t need “Thanksgiving Day” to “jump start” gratitude! We all really do have much to be grateful for but it really behooves those with the grace of God in their hearts to model gratitude.
Tomorrow, the day after Thanksgiving, begins the enjoyment of leftovers. The leftover food is converted into unique ways of spicing up the old dishes with the idea that the leftover food is inferior to the original Thanksgiving meal, food.
God’s blessings, however, are not “leftovers” but continually fresh and new. Every day is “Thanksgiving Day” for every day witnesses’ fresh provisions from on high which come from a loving God. He loves His people despite all that He knows about them! “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23
