“And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.” – II Kings 5:2-3
A Gentle little maiden once was taken from her home.
She had no friends or family; she now was all alone.
She cared about her master, stricken with disease.
Her thoughts were not upon herself, her love was clear to see.
This little girl had suffered and become another’s slave.
Her lot in life did not deter a debt she wished to pay.
She thought about a Prophet for she knew his words were true.
She saw her master’s sickness and knew what God could do.
The witness of this little maid moved powers in the land.
Naaman found Elisha; in his presence he did stand.
The Prophet sent the leper where his faith was placed on trial.
Seven dips in the muddy Jordon and his skin was like a child.
A leper found a healing through his trust in God’s command.
The record of his cleansing was made known throughout the land.
A sinner finds a cleansing when their sin is washed away.
The Lamb was slain upon the cross; His Blood, the price He paid.
