“My Opinion”
A young man by the name of Elihu had been listening to the arguments of Job ’s three friends and decided to jump in and give his opinion. “Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.” – Job 32:10 He had been refraining from speaking for he had been waiting for his elders to wisely understand and have the right solution, respecting Job’s problems. He then gave his opinion. It is interesting to note that in the end the Lord was angry at Job’s three friends but Elihu is not included in the list of the three whom God referenced. Perhaps Elihu had better theology than they had and his opinion was founded on truth!
Its always wise to think what we say if we are inclined to say what we think. The freedom of opinion is often shared on the part of some who have a scarcity on facts. The opinionated need to be acquainted with a knowledge of facts before they become too generous with opinions. Even an honest opinion needs to be an educated opinion! Too many people are liberal in sharing their opinion and deceived into thinking that their opinion is always right and should be the standard in the opinion of all others. They have the attitude that a person well informed is a person with an opinion just like theirs! – Chuck Peters 8/26/2023
