“Wood Knot” or “Would Not”?
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” – Matthew 23:37
A “would not” thinks but does not know, eternal life is owned.
They choose to hope that they are saved, ignoring what is shown.
A “would not” works but does not trust, Jesus Christ alone.
They strive to gain the entrance, to that heavenly home!
A “would not” shuns the gathering, under the Savior’s wings.
Believing that the church itself, does salvation bring.
A “would not” doesn’t heed the voice, which bids us come to Him.
Refusing hope in Jesus Christ, denying fact of sin.
A “would not” does have hope for God, still can save the lost.
He paid the price for all our sins upon the rugged cross.
